# How do we keep children safe in class?

**Every teacher who teaches children is checked before hiring, classes run on academy
accounts only, parents can sit in or request recordings, and teachers never contact
a child outside the academy.** Any concern is reported directly, and the teacher
is suspended while we investigate.

## Before a teacher is hired

 * **Identity check**An official ID document.
 * **Interview and recitation test**A video interview, a recitation test, and questions
   on teaching children.
 * **Child-safety training**Every children's teacher is trained on this policy and
   signs a commitment to it.

## Rules for every class

Class rules| Platform | Zoom or Google Meet, through an academy account only | 
| Recording | On a parent’s request, kept for 30 days, then deleted | 
| Who can watch recordings? | The parent and our quality supervisor only | 
| Contact outside class | Teachers may not contact a child directly. All communication goes to the parent | 
| Camera | Optional for the student. Classes can be audio-only with screen sharing | 
| Female teachers | Available for any girl or boy on request | 
| Parent presence | Parents may sit in on any class, and we recommend it for young children |

## What parents can see

After every class the parent receives a short written report on WhatsApp and email:
what was read or memorized, pronunciation and Tajweed notes, and the plan for next
week. You can ask for any class to be recorded and watch it later.

## How to report a concern

or WhatsApp +201070431439. We suspend the teacher from teaching as soon as we receive
a report, until the investigation is finished, and we reply within 24 hours.

## Children's data

We collect a child’s data only with a parent’s consent, and only what we need to
run classes: first name, age, level and schedule. A parent can ask us to delete

## Frequently asked questions

Are online Quran classes safe for my child?

They can be, if the academy vets teachers, keeps classes on its own accounts, lets
parents sit in or request recordings, and forbids private contact. These are the
rules we follow.

Can I sit in on my child's class?

Yes, always. We recommend it for children under 8.

Does my child need to turn on the camera?

No. The camera is optional and classes can be audio-only.

What happens if I report a teacher?

The teacher is suspended from teaching immediately while we investigate, and we 
reply to you within 24 hours.
