Which level is my child?
You don’t need to know before you book; the teacher assesses your child in the free trial. As a rough guide:
| Your child today | Starting point | Course |
|---|---|---|
| Doesn’t know the Arabic letters, or knows only a few | Noorani Qaida from lesson 1 | Noorani Qaida |
| Knows the letters but reads slowly or with many mistakes | Later Qaida lessons, then reading from the mushaf | Noorani Qaida → Quran for Kids |
| Reads the mushaf but without Tajweed | Reading with Tajweed, one rule at a time | Quran for Kids |
| Reads well and wants to memorize | Hifz plan, usually starting with Juz ʿAmma | Quran for Kids (Hifz track) |
| Has memorized several juz and is forgetting them | Structured revision | Hifz Revision |
What does a kids’ Quran class look like?
Classes are short and follow the same pattern every time, so children know what to expect. A typical 30-minute class for a 7-year-old:
| Minutes | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0–3 | Greeting, du’a, a quick chat to settle in |
| 3–10 | Revision of the last lesson or last surah memorized |
| 10–22 | One new lesson: a Qaida page, a few new ayat, or one Tajweed rule |
| 22–27 | Reading practice with corrections, often as a game or challenge |
| 27–30 | Homework for the next days, and praise for what went well |
Teachers correct one or two sounds at a time. Fixing every mistake at once is the fastest way to make a young child give up.
Who teaches the children?
Children are taught only by teachers who have taught children before and who passed three checks with us: an ijazah check, a recitation test, and an identity check with a video interview. Each child keeps the same teacher, so the teacher learns how they think and what motivates them.
You can ask for a female teacher for a girl or a boy. If the match doesn’t work, you can change teachers at any time, free of charge.
How do you keep children safe?
- Identity checks and interviews for every teacher who teaches children.
- Classes on the academy’s account only, never on a teacher’s personal phone or social media.
- No direct contact between teacher and child outside class; all messages go to the parent.
- Recordings on request for parents, kept for 30 days and then deleted.
- Parents can sit in on any class, and can pause classes at any time.
- A direct line to report a concern, with the teacher suspended while it is investigated.
Details for each rule are in our child safety policy.
What will I see as a parent?
Every week you receive a short written report by email and WhatsApp:
- What was read or memorized, by surah and ayah.
- Letters or Tajweed rules your child still finds hard.
- Homework for the days without a class (usually 5–10 minutes).
- Attendance and focus, with a note from the teacher.
From time to time the teacher also does a short recitation review, which you are welcome to join.
How fast do children progress?
It depends on age, the number of classes and practice at home. With two classes a week, the Noorani Qaida usually takes 3 to 6 months; younger children often take longer. The teacher sets a plan in the free trial and updates it every month in the report.
The children who move fastest are not the oldest or the brightest. They are the ones who practise a few minutes at home on days without a class.

Frequently asked questions
What age do you accept children for online Quran classes?
We teach children from 5 to 15. Children aged 4 can join after a short assessment in the free trial class to check they can focus on a screen for about 20 minutes.
Can I sit in on my child's class?
Yes, and we recommend it for the first few classes and for children under 7. You can also ask for a class to be recorded.
Can siblings share one teacher or one class?
Siblings can have the same teacher in back-to-back classes. We don't put two children in one class, because each child is at a different level and needs to be heard reciting.
What happens if my child misses a class?
Tell us at least 4 hours before the class and it is rescheduled at no cost.
What device does my child need?
A laptop or tablet with a camera, headphones, and a stable internet connection. A phone works but the screen is small for reading the Qaida.
Does my child get a certificate?
Children receive an academy certificate when they finish the Noorani Qaida and each memorization milestone (for example Juz ʿAmma). This is a certificate of completion, not an ijazah.
